My 2019 Bucket List Destinations

There are a lot of destinations of my bucket list. I mean A LOT. If I listed all of them, I’d bore you to death.

I managed to narrow it down to the top destinations that I want to visit over the next year (maybe next few years, because I do actually have a real job that I need to go to).

Japan

Japan is my number one all-time bucket list destination. There is no place I’d rather go than Japan. Which is pretty lucky because I’ll actually be heading there in February.

I’m so fascinated by the Japanese culture and way of life and OBESSESED with the cuisine. Japan is also the type of country you could visit in any season – Spring for cherry blossom season, Summer for the beach lovers (yes Japan does have beaches), Autumn for the gorgeous orange trees and Winter for the snow lovers like myself.

I just really need to practice my Japanese before I jet off. Nihongo wa wakarimasen!

Dubai

I have transited through Dubai many times on route to Europe, but I have never thought of it as a holiday destination. A few weeks ago I read The Sunday Chapter’s post about her recent trip to the UAE… and now it’s on my bucket list.

After a little research, I was shocked to learn how much there is to do in Dubai. From desert safaris to scuba diving at the mall to indoor snowboarding in the middle of summer, Dubai sounds like it’s right up my alley. Not to mention Dubai has the world’s only 7-star hotel and the second largest shopping centre. Count me in!

The Maldives

Whenever I hear the word paradise, I picture The Maldives. It seems like the perfect place to lay on a hammock and relax with a fresh coconut in hand. It’s the type of destination I imagine myself living if I quit my day job (and also had 50 billion dollars).

With its white sandy beaches, tropical reefs and overwater bungalows, it ticks all of my boxes for the perfect holiday destination.  From what I’ve heard, it looks exactly like the incredible photos you see on Google images, but I definitely have to go and see for myself.

Cappadocia, Turkey

I must admit, the only reason I want to visit Cappadocia is because I came across it whilst scrolling through Instagram one night. Cappadocia is located in central Turkey and is famous for its distinctive rock formations known as “fairy chimneys”. More recently, it has become known for its instagrammable shots of hot air balloons floating over the horizon.

Cappadocia looks like something straight out of a movie (Star Wars fans you feel me? I’m getting some serious Planet Tatooine vibes).

Kenya giraffe manor

Giraffes are easily my favourite animal. In Nairobi, Kenya, there is actually a giraffe manor where you can have a sleepover with the animals right outside your window! Giraffe Manor is an exclusive boutique hotel with over 100 acres of African jungle surrounding it.

The hotel is located so close to the wildlife that sometimes the giraffes will stick their heads through the windows to say hello! The Manor only has 12 rooms and I plan to stay in one of them this year.
